It takes both rain and sunshine to make a rainbow

Evie’s story began when she was spotted by Ryoko Matsui wandering from one bus stop to another in the pouring rain on the streets of Los Angeles. After watching Evie nudging people’s hands to get some attention, Matsui brought her to safety at a local animal shelter.

After Evie was not claimed at the shelter, Matsui fostered her and found a forever home. Pilots N Paws was contacted, and Pilot Yehuda flew Evie from Los Angeles to Oregon.

“Thanks to your wonderful program Evie was able to fly from Los Angeles to Oregon to her wonderful forever home.  She now lives with an amazing family with 3 children and 2 dogs on a 5 acre vineyard. I couldn’t be happier for her. A true rags to riches story!” said Matsui.

Her new family is thrilled with the newest addition to their home. “Miss Evie is doing amazing. That is the only word that describes her. She is a sponge. She wants to learn. We love her dearly! The kids adore her and she is so gentle with them. She is thriving,” said her new owners. “We feel so blessed to have her in our lives and will forever be grateful for all of you tireless advocates that change animals’ lives on a daily basis. You are the best!”

Evie pretends she is flying as she is held by Ryoko!

What a beautiful story of providence! I was especially happy to see that this beautiful girl is a Pitbull, what a soulful face. I am grateful.

My good friend Yehuda devotes much of his time and resources to transporting dogs to forever homes. His reward is seeing the joyous faces of children when they meet their new companion for the first time. The old Hebrew maxim “Save one life and you save the world” surely applies to dogs as well!
