Penelope and her Pups Head to FL
The Wilmington community needs to thank Doug Oakley for helping out another set of dogs move to a safe location for adoption.
An Austrialian shepherd and her litter were, as typical, running out of time at a local shelter. They were days away from death when an animal rescue group reached out to save them. Just one small hitch, the group was 615 miles away Melbourne, FL.
This is Oakley’s third trip with Pilots n Paws. “These are tough times, and it’s hard to find the money to do something like this, but sometimes you just have to,” Doug Oakley said. “I guess we do it because the dogs are in such need.”
Doug treated his passengers to a 2 1/2 hour journey before he was met in Jessup, GA by another Pilots n Paws member. The connection took the dogs to their final destination.
If you’re looking for a new home on Bald Head Island, be sure to look up Doug who is a real estate agent there.
