Angel Gets Two Pairs of Wings
I finally have 2 minutes to spare and want to share a very special flight that took place on Jan 28th. Angel, who had been rescued in the nick of time from Roanoke Rapids Animal Control, was originally supposed to be on the previous week’s flight to New Jersey with One Eyed Willie to the Eleventh Hour Rescue. To make a long story short, Angel was not on that flight.
Eleventh Hour was still hoping for Angel to join their rescue group, and we needed to get her from Roanoke Rapids, NC to NJ as soon as possible. Our flight request came in on late Friday afternoon. Michele McGuire and David Kenny stepped in right away and ironed out their flight plans within a few hours. What wonderful folks!
Michele and her co-pilot Cheri were greeted at the Roanoke Rapids airport (IXA) by a very happy Angel and her team of volunteers, Betsy and Jennifer. Betsy and Jennifer had thoughtfully prepared a basket of snacks and goodies for our wonderful pilots to say thanks for their help. What a wonderful gesture!! Once Michele and Cheri landed in Westminster, Maryland (DMW) to meet David for the second leg, they all divvied up their snacks.
David and Angel arrived at the Essex County Airport in Caldwell, New Jersey (CDW) to meet Anja, a wonderful Eleventh Hour volunteer. From there, Angel spent the night at Anja’s house before going to her wonderful foster home and rested peacefully after her day of first class flying.
Thank you so much Michele and David for your very quick assistance to help Angel. At a moment’s notice, you both very wonderfully volunteered to help. We are always so appreciative of your readiness and willingness to help us, each and every time. Angel certainly thanks you!!!
