Jethro Jumps Bail

I’m 16 and have saved a dog from death’s door. He’s a senior coonhound named Jethro. I was just going to foster him until I could find him the right home. I contacted a national advocacy group, Coonhound Companions, and a wonderful lady, Anna Nirva.  This led to the creation of  an “Adopt Jethro the Coonie” Facebook page to help him find a home.

Jethro is one lucky dog, and he is going to be spoiled rotten.

The Facebook page led me to an adopter for Jethro down in Texas. So, we packed him up and drove half way to Texas, which was Little Rock, AR. His new mom took him home but then lost him within a few days. I think all of Texas was looking for Jethro; we were terrified.

Load 'em up, and move 'em out.

While he was lost in Texas I realized that he belonged to me and that we needed each other. Once he was found, Jerry Dunham and some of his friends started to try to find a way for him to come back to his home in Kentucky. Jethro waited and waited for weeks until we heard of a pilot, Mr. And Mrs. Newton, from Pilots n’ Paws that was going to be down in Texas.

"Well, you can take me back to old Kentucky."

Once it was all arranged, a friend took Jethro to the airport and before he knew it, he was on a plane back to me. Jethro enjoyed his plane ride and the wonderful pilots. Pilots n’ Paws and Jerry were the reasons I got my friend back and will be able to enjoy many happy years with my furry best friend.
