We’re happy to announce that our Pilots N Paws co-founder, Debi Boies, accepted the Pet Philanthropy Circle’s “Rescue Organization of the Year” award on behalf of Pilots N Paws at Petfest. On June 9th Pilots N Paws pilots and other volunteers represented our organization and spoke with hundreds of Petfest visitors.

Those who attended the event were able to stop by our booth and talk with us about our mission. As luck would have it, a handful of pilots happened to pass by, and we now have even more pilot volunteers as well as more wonderful supporters!

We would like to thank all of you for your continued support and dedication. Without you, PNP would not be what it is today! It truly does take a village, and your continual encouragement for what we do–as shown by donations, comments on stories, and emails–means so much to us.

We would also like to thank our big-hearted sponsors, Subaru and Petmate. Without their support, we would not have been able to grow to an organization of 2,800 pilots, 12,000 registered users, and over 30,000 facebook followers!

We are incredibly grateful to the organizers and participants of Petfest whose tireless efforts to host this event shined light on animal welfare issues and enabled the recognition of PNP and so many other very worthy charities and volunteers that rescue animals nationwide.

A special thank you to Jewel Morris for planning Petfest! Your wonderful work does not go unnoticed, and you are a true Pet Hero!

At the event were representatives from several pet related businesses and services —veterinarians, pet food and treat companies, animal rescue organizations, and many others. One of the highlights of the event was the Subaru sponsored Love A Pet Adoption.

Doggie Talent Show!

Petfest visitors were entertained by several contests where dogs performed incredible tricks while other animals modeled elegant costumes.

Fancy Costumes!

Of course the day was not complete without the awards ceremony where Debi Boies was introduced by Subaru’s Abana Jacobs—in charge of National Marketing Sponsorship and Promotions—and actress Pamela Grier. Debi graciously accepted the award on behalf of Pilots N Paws and spoke about our organization. Please stay tuned for a video post of the PNP portion of the award ceremony.
