Mary and GG Finally Meet

Mary and GG Finally Meet

Patti with the Brittanys shares a mission with Pilot Gary and GG…

GG is a brittany mix that had been scheduled to go to her forever home a few months ago when her adoptive mom was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. Mary wanted to take GG, but she wasn’t sure how treatment was going to go. The solution was for National Brittany Rescue to foster GG until Mary finished her first round of treatment. The first round was completed, and GG was sent up to Mary on her birthday. What a great way to spend a birthday celebration with a new rescue!

GG’s story was a sad one — she came to us last year from a Utah shelter as a puppy who had been severely abused. She was deemed unadoptable by the shelter and put on the euth list. We pulled her, and she worked with a trainer for several months until she was ready to trust people. Sometimes it takes years for us to rehabilitate an abused dog and place them. Since GG was so young, it was a lot easier for her to learn that not everyone hits, kicks, and screams at dogs.

Now GG is one of the pack and happy to be with people. She’s such an angel — she had three foster moms and we all wanted to adopt her!

She’s still skittish and doesn’t trust strangers, but after a short time, she’s great with people. We really wanted to fly her because the traditional car transports would have required several “strangers” to handle her on the relay drive. One driver after another — we thought GG would be snappy at those people so again, Pilots N Paws really came through for us in a challenging situation.

  1. Gary! Great story! I’d know that airplane anywhere. What could be more perfect than a Pilots N Paws rescue flight in a HUSKY?!?!?

  2. Wonderful story. Thank you!
