Reba’s Success Story

Reba’s Success Story

On May 11, Reba, Rita, Randy and Frannie caught a Pilots N Paws flight from Knoxville, TN to Danbury, CT. Reba, one of the female doxie chi mixes, was adopted recently from her receiving rescue, Danbury Animal Welfare Society, and she is now HOME! Once again, southern animals found new homes in the north, which has more strictly enforced pet laws resulting in fewer unwanted animals.

Reba’s story started in Tennesse when she was one of several animals confiscated from an abuse/neglect situation and then fostered by a caring volunteer. The rescue couldn’t do anything with them until the legal issues were resolved and the owner signed them over. As soon as that happened, the shelter was happy to let the rescue get them vetted and find adoptive homes.

The people network went into full swing and put out the word about these little ones. When the Pilots N Paws trip opportunity came along, they were ready to go and Danbury was willing to take them, so off they went! Happy endings are fantastic, and they are even better when they are actually happy beginnings! Reba has a whole wonderful future ahead of her now.
