American Eagle Pilots Fly Tabitha To OKC

Rescuer Lucy Guerra was at the desert “pound” in Lancaster, CA where a man was going to dump his extremely neglected 2 female and 1 male Chihuahuas. Lucy convinced the man to let her have the dogs. After she returned to her home in Big Bear, CA, she learned that one of the females was pregnant. Sharon Hutchins from Lawton, OK watched their story unfold and decided to try and adopt one of the pups. After months of going thru the adoption process, she was finally cleared to adopt a pup named Tabitha.

Lucy says goodbye.

Lucy and Sharon knew it was too hot and too risky to send a young pup via airline cargo, so they turned to PilotsNPaws. Tabitha was driven to Lodi, CA by Lucy’s sister, Angie, and then handed off to Sue Clark who would fly her commercially to OKC.

The Sacramento AA ticket counter did a great job getting Tabitha signed in for her two flights. Upon arrival in OKC, Gen Mgr. Danette Weems arranged for Sharon to meet the flight and coordinated the photo shoot with the flight crew.

Thanks to all the folks at AE/AA who helped make this flight go so smoothly. A special thanks to Lucy, Angie, and Sharon who dedicated so many hours to save this sweet little Chihuahua.
