Multi Rescue Transport Request Combined

Jim Carney is not one to waste an ounce of avgas.  He massaged dates, flight plans, rescues, vounteers, and dogs to combine two missions.

His day started with a ferry flight from Covington, TN ( M04) to Shelbyville, TN ( SYI) for the first dog pickup.  The dogs were brought to Jim by Teri and Cecil Cox.  The trip was from Shelbyville, TN to Lees Summit, MO for ARATT, Animal Rescue Assistance Team TN.  4 Pups and 3 Adults. All were within two hours of being PTS!!! AART pulled them, vetted them and got them ready for transport.

Christina, Shelbyville, TN Airport and Teri and Cecil Cox, who brought the dogs to Jim.

This passenger manifest was moved further north from Lees Summitt, MO to Sioux City, IA by Pilots N Paws Pilot Sam Taylor. Ground transport completed the trip from Sioux City, IA to Aberdeen, SD.

Taken by Sam Taylor while in-flight. Looks like they are enjoying their FIRST CLASS ride!!

The 2nd mission for the day included a brief ferry flight from Lees Summitt, MO to Lebanon, MO for the second dog pickup.  The itinerary included a leg from Lebanon, MO to Sikeston, MO for Julie Adams of Rescue Angel. Lora Mayer brought the dogs to Jim at the Lebanon Airport.  Passenger list: 5 Miniature Pinchers found abandoned at a house in Missour. Laura Holloway met me at Sikeston to receive the Mini Pin’s.

Trace, Ashley and Cora at Sikeston, MO Airport.

Jim got back in his plane and 35 minutes later landed at his home airport, Covington, TN. He watched the sun rise and set while doing this dual rescue. A very long day and 1000 miles flown but worth it!!!

A very special thanks to all involved with saving the 13 dogs.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jim Carney in September, 2012 when I was flying a dog to him for his flight to Missouri. He really enjoys flying PnP missions; we need more pilots like him.

These are the greatest heart-warming stories. Thank you!
