PNP Pilot Ed Golly and other PNP Pilots Fly Over 450 Dogs For Florida Retriever Rescue in Tampa, FL

Thank you Lori Spaulding, President of the Florida Retriever Rescue (FARR) in Tampa, FL for sending us this kind letter about PNP Pilot Ed Golly who goes above and beyond to fly hundreds of animals to safety each year. In Lori’s own words…

Ed with the two senior labs leaving Tampa

Ed Golly has been helping us pretty much weekly or biweekly at this point.  He has been amazing going wherever we need him in the FL/GA/AL area, and making multiple stops.  He will fly even the next day when we’ve asked 🙂  He has just been absolutely incredible for our rescue, several other rescues here in Tampa, as well as the shelters that need to move these dogs so desperately.
I called Ed last Wednesday to see if he could fly to Bainbridge, GA for us to pick up 18 dogs/puppies for us and two other rescue groups.  He needed to check his schedule as the plane had been in for maintenance. Since the holidays are coming he needed to work on his house to prepare for guests expected to arrive in a few days.
We had a unique opportunity to save to elderly labrador siblings that were in the Hillsborough County Animal Services by moving them up to Greenville, AL to a wonderful family that had agreed to adopt both.  Without Ed’s help, there would be no other options.  Their owner had turned them in to be put down because they were old.  Rescues are stocked full and their time was up.
Ed immediately replied that he would push his holiday commitments aside and find a copilot to do the trip to AL and GA.  We contacted the shelter, got it all arranged and had the two dogs at the airport Tuesday morning for the flight.  He flew them both up to AL, met the adopter to hand off, and then picked up 16 other pups and adults to bring down to Tampa to 3 separate rescues. Our GA portion was cancelled the night before due to potential illness at the shelter, so it worked out that a shelter in AL needed to get dogs out immediately as well.
I just wanted everyone to know how much we appreciate the organization and  all the pilots. I wanted to point out how reliable and helpful Ed has been to all of us.  We saved maybe 100 dogs last year total.  This year, we are hitting over 450!  That has only been possible because of the pilots.  Our ground transports are few and far between and difficult to arrange.  This has been a Godsend to rescue, shelters and of course all the animals.”

Thank you for all you do to save so many beautiful animals. I live in Maine and we take a lot of animals from the south that would otherwise be killed. Merry Christmas to you all.
