Remembering Pilot Timothy Johnson

It is with a great sense of loss that we share the tragic news of a plane crash that took the life of longtime Pilots N Paws Pilot Timothy E. Johnson of Florida. Tim had been flying Pilots N Paws rescue missions since June, 2009. He was not on a rescue mission at the time of this flight.

He is pictured here on his very first PNP flight to save a Basset named Kroozer. Those who worked on this transport remember Tim’s excitement for his first rescue mission.

Tim’s wife, Carly, flew this first mission with him.

Tim was a wonderfully sweet man. His generosity and kindness made him a dedicated pilot who was devoted to saving the lives of the animals he flew. Those who knew Tim took comfort in his refreshing sense of humor. Our hearts go out to his family and friends, and we hope that they find comfort in knowing what a positive impact Tim had on so many people and animals.

We invite you to extend your condolences and offer your heartfelt sympathy by using the link below to sign his guestbook.

The world has lost someone very special. We are fortunate to have had such a compassionate young man fly for our organization. Tim will long be remembered by the Pilots N Paws community for his selfless volunteerism.

God blesses us with special people. sometimes he sends his angels. these are the ones, i believe, who are generous gentle souls that leave too soon. God took his angel back. Don’t be sad too long. Celebrate his life. He is back with God now.

Our thoughts, prayers, and condolences go out to Carly, as well as Tim’s family and friends. We first met Tim and Carly in June 2009 on our very first mission for PNP…ironically, it was Tim and Carly’s first mission that day as well (Still remember taking that picture shown above of the two of them and Kroozer). We met them in Jacksonville, FL and flew Kroozer (Leg 2) up to Whiteville, NC where fellow PNP volunteer pilot, Marty Hutto, took over for Leg 3. Tim will be missed! Here is the link from our blog of that day with pictures as a tribute:
