On November 25th, just after Thanksgiving, dozens of people on the East Coast got involved in a logistically complex operation transferring 5 young dogs from shelters in GA and SC up to the Northeast to get a new chance.
Under the leadership of seasoned coordinator Rosemary Petriello, volunteers Brooke Baker and Laurie Brown brought respectively Noelle & Rudolph (lab mixes) and Juliette & Hershey (hound mixes) to the Lancaster, SC airport for pilot Christophe Masiero and crew chief Larysa Masiero to fly them in their Cardinal to the Greenville-Spartanburg airport in South Carolina.
Meanwhile, under the leadership of another seasoned coordinator, Kristen Carney, pilot Jason Dagenhart flew his Cessna Cardinal to Dalton, GA to pick up Bree, a cute 3-month old chocolate lab and bring her to Greenville-Spartanburg, SC.
There, Kathleen Quinn, executive director for Pilots N Paws welcomed all 5 puppies and crews in the airport FBO.
Steve Shoop then flew everyone on his twin Cessna to Leesburg VA where Bree went on with Pilot Steve O’Rourke to New York to meet with Pilot Andris Skulte before arriving safely in Manchester NH to meet with Carol.
From Leesburg, VA, pilot Mel Etheridge flew Juliette and Hershey to Central NJ where they were welcomed by Cara Szeles while Juliette and Hershey flew with pilot Gary Riebel to Linden, NJ and then with pilot Rich Wegener to Providence, RI to meet with Brook Leite.
Great team work!
