Kenny made it home on New Year’s Eve!

When Kenny’s owner didn’t come to claim him at the Chatham County, GA animal control shelter for weeks, the shelter veterinarian reached out to Jen Sonshine, a volunteer at the Aussie Rescue and Placement Helpline chapter of Savannah, GA.

Although spending Christmas with her family in Michigan, she worked and leveraged her network to find a foster place for Kenny. Heather Clarkson, running Carolina Hearts Rescue in Columbia, SC agreed to foster him so it was just about finding the transportation for him during the Holidays.

Jen reached out to Pilots N Paws and found Christophe Masiero, a pilot vacationing in nearby Hilton Head, SC. Although they were unable to arrange the release from the county shelter on the day of his departure to Charlotte, NC after Christmas, Jen succeeded to get Kenny out in the afternoon of New Year’s Eve so Christophe came back to pick him up at the Signature FBO at the Savannah airport (KSAV). He then flew Kenny to the Jim Hamilton LB Owens airport (KCUB) in Columbia, SC arriving right at dusk for Heather to take him home and get ready to start 2013 with hopes and dreams to find a good family.

Good luck Kenny!
