Prince Gets The Royal Treatment—A First Class Ticket On A Pilots N Paws Flight

By Karon Stewart

Prince is a 7-year-old spitz who was looking for a forever home or rescue through no fault of his own. You see, Prince’s former owner loved animals and had rescued him from an abusive home but then Prince’s dad was killed in an automobile accident because someone else lost control of their car and hit him.

Prince is so confused why his dad has not come back for him.  Prince was living in a car lot when the family got him and paid to board him with a local vet for 5 weeks while they took care of their father’s estate, but this had been very costly.    Eskie Rescuers United was contacted and with the help of Pilots N Paws, Prince would  be on his way from Tennessee to Maryland.  It took a little longer than usual because it was the Christmas holidays and snow was falling all over the South and East.  But a break came in the weather and three wonderful pilots jumped to the cause.
With the help of Paulette Huddleston and Jeanie Lamphere (West Brow Kennels), Prince was taken to the first pilot, Nancy McEntee, PhD.  She flew him to pilot #2, Frank Robinson.  Frank continued the journey to pilot #3, William (Bill) Curtis who flew him to the Executive Director of ERU, Heidi Ortmeyer.

Prince immediately went to a vet where he had a fatty tumor removed, a dental and other various medical things totaling $1,300 so far.  Next is the opthalmologist to check his vision for possible cataracts.  Prince is going to be pampered and have a wonderful and healthy life thanks to Eskie Rescuers and Pilots N Paws!

Nancy is an awesome person. She was involved in the flight for my Annie and even kept her for a few nights. Prince was in good hands with Nancy!
