Puppy rescue missions usually don’t require much legal expertise, but these puppies are in good hands when Larry Ploucha is in the cockpit.

Ploucha, a veteran business law attorney with 30 years experience, is also a pilot who volunteers for Landrum, S.C.-based Pilots N Paws. He recently completed a flight bringing several Labrador retriever puppies to new owners.

The non-profit group coordinates pilots willing to transport abandoned animals to areas where they are more likely to be adopted, or where an adoption is pending.

Ploucha is a shareholder for Fowler White Boggs in Fort Lauderdale. He represents businesses or business owners on employee benefits, estate planning, tax law and other issues.

He is also a founder and director at Wings Over Miami Air Museum.
