Griffin Going South and Radar North

When Pointer Rescue Organization (PRO) foster home coordinator Caroline Marino posted a transportation request on the PNP forum at the end of April, she was trying to move a sweet 2-year old Pointer named Radar from Atlanta, GA to Greensboro, NC. Pilot Christophe Masiero answered the call as he was originally trying to go from Charlotte to Atlanta during the coming weekend to pick up with another Pointer, Mysti, and fly 1 leg for her trip from LA to VA.

It would make sense to try to synchronize the trips and get 2 dogs on the same route. When the weather forecast for the 1st weekend of May looked pretty bad across the Southeast and Mysti would not be in Atlanta before Sunday anyway, Christophe suggested flying Radar on Friday evening instead since time was of the essence to get Radar out of the shelter.

Now that his trip from Atlanta to Greensboro was confirmed, Christophe actually looked at the PNP forum again to see if he couldn’t use that “empty” leg going to Atlanta from Charlotte… and 2 days prior to the trip, he found a request from Jen Sonshine of New Spirit for Aussie Georgia. She was looking to bring a beautiful 3-year old Australian Shepherd from Charlotte to Atlanta.

So on his way to the airport that Friday afternoon, Christophe drove to pick up Griffin from Jennifer, the foster volunteer who found him, and flew to the Lawrenceville airport where Jessica picked him up.  Interesting detail about him, he barks when flying in the clouds, making it hard to talk to the controllers.

There, he also connected with Jan who brought Radar for his trip to NC. After an uneventful flight across GA, SC and NC, the pair landed at the Burlington airport at 10:30pm where Denise picked up Radar.
