Yellow Lab Stan “The Man” Now in Florida
Stan was found in one of the shelter’s outside runs. He was left there after hours and found in the AM by shelter employees. Due to his size, he was passed up for adoption.
Shelter managers Nina Wingfield and John Robinson contacted Jim Carney, who in turn contacted Lab Rescue of Florida. LRRofF has taken in several Labs from the Collierville Shelter. After looking at Stan’s pictures, Kelly Smith, Operations Director, told Jim they would take him. The rest is history.
Jim flew Stan on July 11 from the Olive Branch Airport, MS to the Lake City Airport, FL. At first, Stan was a little nervous about flying but soon relaxed for the rest of the 2 hour and 45 minute flight.

UPDATE
On July 12 Kelly informed Jim, ‘very nice Humans who have on file, an approved application, will be driving from SC to see Stan this Saturday. Stan is exactly the Lab they have been looking for.’ That drive was worth the trip. Below is Stan in his new forever home in Coumbia, SC. In the background is his new buddy, Zulilly the Cat.
