PNP Pilot Flies Rescue Missions While In College
“This is Snoopy an 18 month old Doberman that got hit by a car in Nashville, TN and has been in a shelter since 8/23, his owners didn’t want to pay to fix his broken leg. He was pulled out of the shelter by Patricia from the the Doberman assistance network and Pam of the Illinois Doberman rescue decided to take him in. Patricia arranged ground transport from Nashville to Indianapolis via 3 volunteers and I flew from Lewis University Airport (KLOT) near Chicago down to Eagle Creek Airpark (KEYE) in Indianapolis after picking up my sister in Lafayette, IN. I ended up having to land at Bult Field in Monee, IL (c56) because I ended up having a small electrical problem in flight. Luckily this wasn’t too far from Lewis ( where I was supposed to meet Pam) so she drove and met me there.
I found Pilots n Paws back in February while looking around on the Internet for ways to build flying time and gave it a try and loved the experience so now I’m doing them in my free time while I’m at school.”
