Rocket had a new life waiting for him in North Carolina, but he found himself stuck in Tennessee. For several weeks, his rescuers tried to arrange transport. Finally, a three-leg mission was set up for him.

Sue dropped him off in the Memphis area at Fayette County Airport in Somerville, TN (KFYE). Chris Hilty loaded up Rocket and flew an hour leg to Nashville (KJWN). A second leg of a little over an hour was flown by Terry & Marge Janiak to Knoxville (KDKX).

In Knoxville, Rocket flew through a kickoff party to raise funds for a documentary on Big Fluffy Dog Rescue and Pilots N Paws. He was picked up there by Ann and Tom Slater for his last leg, a 2-hour stretch to Raleigh-Durham, NC (KRDU).

Rocket was a great passenger. He sat quietly in the back seat taking in the sights from 9000 feet with an occasional nap mixed in. Rocket was excited to see his new home and received celebrity status from the KRDU staff upon his arrival. Pat picked up Rocket at KRDU, and he was off for the next leg of his life.
