Hobbes Finds His Home in Tennessee

SPECIAL CLAP OF HANDS AND SALUTE to Noel Bouyett who flew handsome Rex from the Bainbridge, GA shelter to Calhoun, GA to Coonhound Rescue in his Cherokee 180. THANKS Cheri, Christy and a few others. SPECIAL HUGS to Michelle from the shelter who got Rex to the airport on time! Rex is such a sweet guy and many thanks are due to everyone that took interest in keeping him so long at the shelter and making sure he found his way into Coonhound Rescue and then got him transported all the way!

While at rescue, they took Rex to Paws in the Park at Centennial Park in Atlanta. He was such a good boy! Great with other dogs, gentle with children and personable with everyone. Rex quickly had an Adoption Request from a previously screened adopter. It seems Rex is exactly the dog they have been looking for since they lost their bluetick girl in June to lymphoma. Rex will have a wonderful loving forever home soon with two coonhound “sisters”!

Rex hung out at rescue for a couple more weeks. They put a little more weight on him, and he grew even more handsome! When Rex finally got to meet his adoptive family and it was love at first sight! He may still be a skinny boy but he has had a couple of de-wormings and lots of good food and is gaining. There is not a doubt that his adoptive parents won’t fill him full of good food and love! His name is now “Hobbes” and his forever home is in Nashville, TN.

Hobbes has gained a whopping 15 pounds and it as at a very healthy weight. He loves food!! Car rides, walks and playing with his coonie sister dilly. Together they get into quite the mischief. He is a bundle of wiggles and wags. He’s always happy and loves the company of his human family. He has found his voice…a very deep melodious bay. I can’t thank everyone who worked so hard and loved so much to help Hobbes find his forever home! We are truly blessed by him. Btw he could apply to be one of santas reindeer. He never walks anywhere he bounds and takes all steps on our deck in a single leap!! He makes is laugh everyday. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts. Love the Heitmeier family
