Krypto’s Going Home
MARK BRADLEY makes his first PNP flight from Du Page, IL to Monroe-Custer Airport, Monroe, MI. Mark sprang into action after he saw a transport request from Chicago, IL to Southgate, MI for a small Yorkie named Krypto, who had been missing for 14 months.
His owner, Kathy Schrieber, a Los Angeles Vet Tech, suffered a debilitating injury at work, forcing her to move back to Michigan where her family members live.
Krypto, having run away, showed up in a nearby town, two weeks after she moved. She missed her dog terribly and wanted him back, but being on disability, she was unable to pay the costs to ship Krypto commercially. She heard about PNP from a Facebook response. So she turned to PNP for help. Another pilot offered to fly Krypto commercially to Chicago O’Hare, if they could find someone to take Krypto to meet Mark.
PNP Pilot Michael Baraz offered to drive Krypto to meet Mark for the final leg of his journey. Mark writes: “Being my first PNP flight, I was loaded for “bear” with a crate, dog bed, towels, blanket, paper towels, garbage bag, leashes, collars and cheesy snacks ,in case bribery was necessary.”
