Max Will Now Find a Good Home in Florida

Lab Mix Max’s life was turned upside down when his owner died and he was being neglected by the family members. A nice lady took Max in to prevent him from going to the dreaded Memphis Animal Shelter, but she was only able to keep Max for a short period. After several pleas to various rescue groups, Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida Kelly Smith said, we will take him.

Kelly posted the ride request for Max on the Pilots N Paws forum. I departed yesterday from Covington, TN for Lake City, FL with Max in the backseat. LRR of FL volunteer Patty met Max and I upon arrival. He will be re-vetted, get heartworm treatment and a new forever home. Max will make a loving family very happy.

Just about 10 mins ago, through this very good article, I learned about these wonderful folks and pilots who do such great work! These all are special people, who give of their own time and monies to save many helpless, loveable creatures!! There is no more noble thing than an old dogs love and affection for his/her life long guardian!! Thank you for your unselfish dedication! Not everybody in this world is selfish and self centered; these folks prove that to us all!

Many thanks to you Jim for flying Max to Florida to find his forever home. I am so grateful for people like yourself who give so much to help animals in need. You are truly a special person and I cannot thank you enough for what you do.

I am so grateful to Jim Carney and the Pilots N Paws program for helping me and Max. Max lived with me before flying to Florida with Jim to join Kelly Smith at the Lab Rescue of Florida. I remembered reading an article in our local newspaper several years ago about the program. I was so impressed by what the pilots do for these animals in need that I kept the article. Little did I know that one day the program would be helping me and the loving dog I rescued. I felt completely comfortable with Jim when I spoke to him on the phone. He was every bit the kind and compassionate man I had envisioned when I met him in person. I am a forever friend to the Pilots N Paws program and will share with those I know the wonderful work all of the pilots in the program do for these animals in need.
