200 PLUS ANIMALS ARE BEING RESCUED FROM KILL

    SHELTERS & GIVEN A SECOND CHANCE AT LIFE

It’s A Sight To See: Heartbreaking Stories Ending In joy! 200 plus abandoned pets scheduled to be put to sleep are being flown to no-kill rescue organizations where they will get a second chance at life, put up for adoption and find their new forever homes with loving families.

It’s happening Saturday March 1, starting at 11 AM at the Decatur County Industrial Airport in Bainbridge, GA.1379958_600599066646053_1707339449_n

About 20 private pilots with the non-profit organization Pilots N Paws will take off in their planes, carrying their precious cargo from Georgia to various pet rescue organizations in Florida. Including West Palm Beach, Clearwater, Tampa, Port Orange, Fort Meyers, Stuart, and Orlando.

Other pets flown by PNP pilots to Spruce Creek will then be driven by volunteers from the community to their new safe harbors.

The animals are all coming from animal shelters in Alabama and Georgia where they were scheduled to be euthanized due to overcrowding.

1381305_600602516645708_170834910_nThe volunteer pilots are donating their time, planes, and fuel, as are the drivers and all the volunteers.

In addition, the pilots will be taking hundreds of pounds of pet food to the shelters from a food drive organized by the Spruce Creek Aviation Community in Port Orange, Florida.

The pilots will begin arriving at their connecting airports to drop the pets off to rescue organizations at about 2-3 PM.

1374907_600599706645989_480819276_nAccording to the Humane Society, 4-million cats and dogs, about one every 8-seconds are euthanized in shelters each year. Here is a happy ending for 200 pets that will be rescued in one morning.

Pilots N Paws is an award-winning charitable flying animal rescue organization. With more than 4,100 pilots, it flies about 2,400 missions a year transporting approximately 15,000 animals annually.
