Hi. I'm Susan, a United ground employee based in SNA. I have been transporting via ground and air for several years now, with most of my transports during Hurricane Katrina. I can help transport in/out of the LAX, ONT, or SNA as long as I can get back home the same day. I prefer to transport adult small pets in cabin only because my last transport was a disaster. Despite being prepared, my 3 puppies in cabin had continous bouts of major diaharrea from MSY - LAX. Fortunately, the UA flight attendant had bags of coffee and orange oil on her, and it occurred after the food cart passed my row. The passengers wanted to kill me.

I can also take a pet half way, (ie, So-Cal - Denver) to hook up with a transport elsewhere. However, United's fees are very high and employees are not offered a discount. 125.00 pet in cabin / 200+ cargo.

If you need help, email me at my animal rescue email: kaimashoo@aol.com.

Welcome to all our new members! WE are so glad that you have joined us in this venture and thank you all for your generous offers.

Just a reminder.......if you have a specific offer to extend to the folks asking for assistance with a rescue transport, please look at the various sections of the forum board. If you are volunteering to foster, please list yourself in the "Other Offers" section. If you are a pilot who is without a private plane but would like to be on hand to assist another pilot, please list yourself under the "Pilots Volunteering" section. If you are a commercial airline employee and would like to help with transports, please list yourself under the "Commercial Aviation Offer" section.

Hopefully, we have a section for everyone to specifically post their offer of help. In each section of the forum, it is easy to post your information. Just open that forum, click on NEW TOPIC (very important to do this so your post will show up as new) and list your offer.

Thank you all again for making a difference by volunteering.

Just wanted to post a quick intro - I run a small foster/rescue group that is mostly dedicated to kelpies and ACD's here in Eastern CT but we also take many other breeds as well as not all my foster homes are willing to handle those herding tuffies! We have been in existance since 2001 as a support group for our local shelter in Mansfield CT mostly raising funds for the animals and shelter funding what the town municipality won't pay for. We have rescued and fostered approximately 50 dogs per year give or take a few in our private foster homes and helped countless others in our town shelter as well as others in need. We operate with two to three foster homes on a regular basis but have had as many as five at one time. We do events throughout the area to help defray our costs as much as possible and keep our adoption fees to a reasonable amount and help pay for our transports when we cannot otherwise get help from volunteers. Its a long road to rescue but well worth it to see those happy, wagging tails in their new homes in the end! :D You can see our website on petfinder at http://www.fomas.petfinder.com

Hi there:

My name is Beady and I am the proud owner of a rescue who has just started working with you guys in conjunction with a partner organization in LA.

My website is here:

http://coldnoseswarmbeds.synthasite.com ... orders.php

My rescue helps facilitate dogs out of California and the Pacific Northwest into Canada and new forever homes. This saturday in fact I'm receiving 6 puppies that are only 8 weeks old through your great organization and the pilots who are a part of it.

I am so proud to have a link to your website from mine and I commend each and everyone of you who help make this happen.

How does a rescue also find out if there are services being provided in Canada going back down to Washington? :)

I will be taking pictures once we see these 6 new souls whose lives have been saved with the help of each and every one of you.

Cheers,

Beady

Hi Beady,

We never know who may be flying where. That is the beauty of Pilots N Paws, it is all volunteer and pilots respond to a request when they know they are in a position to help. When the time comes that you need this route post your transport request to the board and see who replires. Or, you can contact the pilots privately who are listed in the area of the route and ask them if your request is possible. That would be my best advice! Thanks for joining PNP and glad the group was able to help you and the furkids!

Hi eveyone,
I am Suzi Macy and live in Warm Springs Or. I found this site from a dalamtion list group I am on. I would love to volunteer with whatever you may need. I can transport animals.

I have 5 dogs all rescue, 2 dalmations, 2 mutts and one pit bull. I think this is a great site and a wonderful way to help animals get a second chance in life!

Hi, my name is Katrina McGinnis.
I am the current President of D2Care (Deaf Dog Connections, Advocacy, Resources and Education).
I am also a transport coordinator. I have facilitated flying many deaf dogs and hearing dogs via commercial airlines. But, although I have not heard of any of the dogs I have transported being unduly stressed, it does worry me, especially the deaf ones.
So, here I am, looking for another resource for transporting the dogs (deaf and hearing) that I am assisting in rescuing and transporting.

Hi, I'm Liz Mason. I've been doing car transports for about a year, and am now fostering one dog at a time in my home for Southern Comfort Maltese Rescue or Ohio Fuzzy Pawz. I live in Florence, KY and have fairly close access to Lexington, KY, Dayton, OH, Cincinnati, OH, Columbus, OH airports to get dog where it needs to go by car, and let the pilot take it from there.
