ALL TRANSPORT REQUESTS MUST BE POSTED TO THE RIDE BOARD!

Hello Everyone,

As Pilots N Paws continues to grow, we felt that it was time to remind everyone how the system is set up to operate. All requests MUST be posted to the Ride Board:Animals Needing Transport, no exceptions. This is done in order to give our pilots the option of using our 501c3 status for their taxes at the end of the year. If your request is not posted and replied to, it is difficult for them to verify that they offered their generous gift of a rescue flight to your group.

Even if you have an established relationship with a pilot who flies for you repeatedly, take a few minutes and post the request on the Ride Board and reply to it yourself if need be, thanking the pilot/s for making the flight. After you have connected with a pilot/pilots then it is likely more convenient to take your final arrangement plans private and copy everyone in together on an email. Pilots will advise you on their airports of choice, days, times, etc. and most are very accomodating to your schedules as well. We always need to keep in mind that weather is a deciding factor on the day a pilot can fly. Unlike ground transport, it's not possible to just pull over to the side of the road if the weather suddenly turns inclement :D

Once the flight is accomplished, or even if it has already been completed when you post the request, mark the post DONE so our board volunteers can move the request to the DONE/completed section or cancelled if that is the case.

We cannot stress how important it is to follow the guidelines and suggestions for this forum. It will keep everyone on a good track of communication which is paramount in helping the animals who need us. Please remember that it is a generous gift from volunteer pilots to rescues to be able to make complete these requests , so we would greatly appreciate your cooperation in keeping this organization running as smoothly as possible.

Thank each of you for all the tireless work you do on behalf of all rescue animals.

This is my first attempt to post and I can't see how to post a request on the ride board.
On the Board Index Page, where you found this forum, you will also see a forum titled:

Ride Board: Animals Needing Transport. Click on that forum an open it.
2. On upper left of page you will see NEW TOPIC, click on that because your request is new.
3. Have sending and receiving zip codes on hand along with all the pertinent information about the animals and contacts
4. Fill in the subject line, zip codes, answer ALL the pre-launched questions in the form
5. Scroll down and click on Submit, your request is now posted.

You can log in and check your request every day on the board buy clicking on an opening your post and looking for any replies from pilots. You will also receive an automated email if anyone at all replies to any of your posts. You can read that email and follow the instructions their, clicking on the link they provide for you to take you directly to the message.

PLEASE EVERYONE, take a minute and read the FAQ section that is listed on the top of every single page of the working forum boards. You will see a plane icon with the word Pilots and a Lifesaver Ring with the word Rescue. The biggest percent of all your questions can be answered there. Also important information at the top of each section of the forum . For example, there is an article on the top of the Ride Board Forum about parvo, dogs overheating, etc. Take a few minutes and learn what is here for you. We do our best to cover a lot of it and it's all to support you. We also have a question section forum as a choice where you can click on it and one of three monitoring advisors will guide you, answer your questions, etc.

Thanks for helping the animals!

All,
When you post your request, the way PNP was set up to operate, after you make contact with pilot(s) it puts everyone on the same page. This makes for better communication between everyone involved in the rescue. What has happened, many rescues have got to know many pilots so they just call or email them direct. This makes for Pilots N Paws operating inside Pilots N Paws. I know MANY pilots who never check the ride request forum. They are never on the forum. They wait for direct contact from certain rescues. However, once the rescue flight(s) are organized, there is nothing wrong with direct communication and I encourage it and there is nothing wrong with sending pilots the link to their post on the forum. I won't fly for 2 hours just from a reply from an email or post on PNP. I always call and verify before I fly. Example ,which just happened to me a few weeks back. I responded to a request to fly to an East TN Airport to pick up a dog. The rescue told me the foster would be at the airport with the dog at 9:00AM. Thank goodness ,I called the foster and she told me, she knew nothing about the flight and had NEVER heard d of Pilots N Paws. Plus, she was unable to drive. I still did the flight but the rescue had a cab waiting for me to go get the dog. Also, posting creates a papertrail for many pilots, me included. I keep records of every animal I have flown, pictures included. Complete with DONE - Post.

Read and acknowledged. Hoping to get two dogs to their 4 ever in Maine where their adopters will do whatever it takes to get them there.

I feel uncomfortable contacting anyone directly so I just post.
I have had several challenges with my rescue but all have been over come and saving lives is all that matters.
Thank you
