Additional Info/situation:
We have a Redbone Coonhound in the kill shelter in Paris, TX. Country Hearts Hound Rescue, in Houston, has room for him. Now we just need to get the two of them together. I've been looking for ground transport, but Paris is rather off the beaten path (meaning: It's not close to any Interstates).
Here's one possible solution:
Kate, who runs Country Hearts, can meet a flight anytime this coming Sunday, but the Sunday weather for Paris isn't looking good. A Paris shelter volunteer has company this week. It's her sister, and said sister is going home to Austin on Sunday. If the Sunday weather in Austin and Houston is better than the mess I see brewing in Paris, we could bring our hound here, and then fly him to Houston. Yes, I'm also looking for ground transport Austin to Houston, but so far have drawn a blank, probably because the drive down from Paris would make the trip to Houston start so late.
If you have other suggestions, please let me know.
Thank you for everything you do for the homeless animals!
