We are looking for Saturday transport for Trooper. As I am not familiar with the area, Zip codes are approx. locations
CHARLESTON, WV TO PITTSBURG, PA
Trooper is a German Shorthaired Pointer that weighs in at approx 55# he is UTD with shots, neutered and seeking a ride to a specialist in Pittsburgh. Trooper had been hit by a car (presumably) and found as a stray. He was taken in by the GSP Rescue, and received medical care and attention. Unfortunately, his leg is not healing properly and a specialist is needed in PA.
The rescue group was able to ground transport Trooper to Charleston, WV, but then was unable to find a ride for the last leg of his journey.
Thank you so much for your help in getting Trooper to his doctor and back on all four legs again!
The following is quoted from the rescue organization:
Trooper is a German Shorthaired Pointer, approx 1 yr. He is friendly and affectionate. He has no known behavioral issues. He is a strong, young boy, and does not yet have great leash manners. Trooper is headed for temporary foster care in Pittsburgh, PA.
Trooper had surgery on his rear leg on Friday, and does have a pin inserted. He gets around fine, but may need assistance getting into a vehicle. Crating would be the best option for him, but he could probably be comfortable on a back seat. He should fit well in a large to XL vari-kennel or large wire crate. He will be traveling with a rescue tag attached to a regular collar, a no-slip and a leash. Please attach the leash to the no-slip collar, as we do not know whether he may attempt to back out of a regular collar. (Driver Tip: please bring an extra leash in case Trooper chews through the provided leash)
