Additional Info/situation:

Two rescue groups need to swap dogs between Houston and San Antonio. There will be one going each way. We tried to plan it for this past weekend, but it didn't work out.

Piper was in the kill shelter in Angleton. No Texas hound rescue group had room. The SPCA of Western Quebec, in the Ottawa area, pulls a small number of Texas dogs of breeds they can easily place, usually Labs. They agreed to take Piper, since he was out of time. I raised donation money for his vetting, and the SPCAWQ took responsibility for transport to Canada.

Piper turned out to be heartworm positive, and they can't take him in Canada until he's treated and tests negative. That means finding him a foster home in Texas for a month to a month and a half for his treatment.

I suggested that we swap a coonhound in San Antonio that is HW free and ready to go, freeing up a space for Piper there. Farah was chosen, and now needs to get to Houston to travel with the Labs to Ottawa. Piper needs to get to San Antonio to begin his HW treatment.

Piper can travel to San Antonio anytime either on Saturday or on Sunday. Piper is in Spring, so CXO and DWH would work well for the eastern end. Farah is closest to 5C1 in Boerne, but we might want to shift to 8T8 depending upon time of day (if on Saturday). This transport could begin from either end.

Both hounds are very sweet. Piper can be a bit loud, but hopefully won't have much to say in the confines of an aircraft.

Thank you for everything you do for the homeless animals.

Jerry,

I'm good for either day, WX permitting.

Are you sure we're not overusing you? You had a flight this past Sunday, are transporting the stray Dane tomorrow, and can do this coming weekend, too? It's certainly wonderful for us, but your wife might want to see you SOMEtime.

Let's wait a couple of days to make concrete arrangements. On Thursday we'll have a better look at the weekend weather and can work around it.

Thank you for all you are doing for the homeless animals!

I am available Saturday, but it will have to be an early morning flight so I can be back at Pearland Regional by noon.

Looking at the Weather Underground sure doesn't give me a good feeling about a Saturday transport. I think this is going to have to happen on Sunday. Thanks for the offer, CleoBen.

Wade, if you're still game, we're on for Sunday. That works best for Jo Ellen in San Antonio and with the weatherman. Can you pick up at DWH? Kelly will have difficulty getting to Pearland, or any other southside airport, particularly if she has to do it twice. She's a single mom who works long hours during the week, so I really want to avoid asking her to haul dogs that distance on top of the short-notice temp fostering she's done for us.

Thanks!

Looks like we're go for Sunday, assuming the current weather outlook holds. Thanks, Wade.

Success! Our pilot got an earful from a hound duet, but he survived to deliver those two and return with a third. A successful day that took full advantage of great flying weather. Thanks, Wade!
