THANK YOU SO MUCH TRUDI AND LAURA... we had just about run out of time on Benson... without you two -- he would be GONE and not in the good GONE..

You two ROCK... it is great to find pilots who can haul a 110 boy, his crate, toys, etc.

To Mobile Mutts -- I will never forget you giving us MIke's place on this plane to keep Benson safe. You rock also...

Thanks,
Ann

We are very flexible to where this bloodhound can be picked up....

The only days that will NOT work are Friday afternoon and Saturday due to a family wedding. October 26/27
Number of animals being transported: One
Breeds, weight, age: Bloodhound, 110 pounds, 2 years old
Health Condition: Good
Heart worm Status: Negative
Vaccinations: UTD August 2012
Health Certificate: yes
Spay/Neutered: Neutered
Special needs: None - but not having luck getting ground transport as soon as possible
Name of Sending Rescue/Parties Matt T -- Cottage Grove, MN
Name of Receiving Rescue/Parties: Vera -- Bowling Green, Missouri
Contact information (publicly viewable on forum): Ann T - Bloodhound Rescue -
Are you a 501c3: I help out all the bloodhound rescue groups from Canada to Texas and all points east and west when needed and they are all 501c3.
Additional Info/situation: Benson is an owner surrender due to problems with the neighbor messing with his fence, striking him, etc. The owners and I have contacted all the rescues in the twin cities area and can't find a foster home for this boy. This is the closet foster home I have to keep this boy alive.

I am trying to set up ground transport for this boy, Matt is willing to take him to any airport from Rochester, MN, Mason City IA, Waterloo IA, etc. to get this boy to Missouri. Vera is really close to Bowling Green, Missouri.

Thank you so much.
Ann

Yes, we would be willing to take him. His large crate will fit in the back of the plane as I have removed the rear seat (to make room for large crates!). My airport is Flying Cloud, Eden Prairie, MN which isn't far from Cottage Grove. If that doesn't work out, I could fly him November 4th. Of course, all of this is weather permitting....

Thank you so much Laura.... We will pray for good weather on Friday. What time do you want to take off? Matt can meet you anytime at your airport with Benson and his crate. Matt will be there early enough to potty him, etc. Matt's cell phone is 612-860-7304. They will not feed him breakfast. Vera is just south of Bowling Green and Bowling Green is a really small airport that Dave has used a few times before when taking to this foster home. You tell me what airport and what time and I will have Vera there ready to take Benson. Vera;s phone number is 573-485-6797. Vera is about 10 minutes from Bowling Green, so very little notice is needed and she will be there waiting. If you want a different airport in that area, I just need to let Vera know ahead of time to she can be there. Thank you so MUCH....

Oh, no, part of my post didn't come through - we can take Benson Friday if our original planned rescue falls through. It is the sheltie/staffie from Cokato to Champaign, IL. I haven't heard back from them yet so will keep in touch. I apologize for the confusion!

OK, I wrote to Mobile Mutts to let me know as soon as they know.

Is there any way you could take both dogs, drop both dogs off to Vera's, then I could do a ground transport of the sheltie/staff to his new home?

I am just throwing out getting the biggest bang for your buck as possible??? LOL

Laura; I just heard about the 110 lb Bloodhound Twin Cities, MN to North of St. Louis, If it is a choice between mine (who is safe) or the bloodhound who is clearly not, please move the bloodhound, I'll try and work on a plan B for mine.... I thank you SO much for your offer, but clearly Benson needs your help much more than Mike does!

I am in total tears at this point... thank you so much... If Laura can take both boys, I have a gal in St. Elmo, IL who said she could do ground transport between St. Louis and St. Elmo, IL, which would put Mike with in 90 minutes of Champaign, IL. Vera could easily take Mike and Benson... she is excellent with dogs and has room. The question is if she can handle this much weight.... continue prayers for good weather..

Not sure what her capacity is, But Benson definitely needs to take priority. He needs the help far more than Mike does. Mike is safely in foster and can wait. If she can take both, I could pick up Mike in St. Elmo.

if both Benson and Mike can live together in one crate, we will consider it. I am not sure there is room in my plane for Benson's large crate, a crate for Mike, and our luggage for our trip even with the back seat removed. How large is Benson's crate? I would also need a crate sized for Mike - I only have an XXL crate and a small crate (that would fit a big corgi, maybe Mike would fit for the flight.....). If there is a medium sized crate that would fit Mike, I could return it and maybe get both to fit. Weight is not an issue - my 182 is a load hauler! My friend and I are very experienced with rescue, and don't want a horrible fight in a crate at 7000 feet. Been there, done that. I am still willing to transport Mike at a later date.

I'm totally willing to give Benson the spot and not complicate matters!! He needs to get to safety.... Mike is safe and can wait his turn. I wish you all a safe flight, blue skies and happy tails!! You are awesome for doing this .... rescue rocks!! rescue pilots rock more!
