Rosemary,
I would prefer no crate(s). My passengers seem to do fine without them in the baggage area. They just curl up and sleep. I'll try a few pilots here at JYO to see if I can find some further transport. I agree that splitting Hercules off at this point may be the best approach.

Steve,
I'm on the upper ramp, front row, spot G-11.

Regards,
Mel

If I understand correctly, two puppies (Noel and Rudy) need to get to RI

I can get them to RI from NY or NJ. How far North can you get them?

Hi all. I could get them from Winchester or leesburg VA to NJ anytime this weekend (Friday to Sunday). I am fine with taking just Hercules or the puppies also so maybe we can spolit them up to meet that leg.

How about this?

Steve takes all 4 puppies from Greenville (origin) to Leesburg on Sunday, 11/25, connecting with me and Tim.

I take Hershey and Juilette Leesburg to central NJ (destination)

Tim takes Noel & Rudy Leesburg to NJ and connects with Iceman 1007

Iceman 1007 takes Noel and Rudy to Providence, RI (destination)

That leaves poor Hercules stuck in NC, but gets everyone else to their destination. Otherwise, at this point, we are still short two legs: Hercules NC to VA and Noel and Rudy VA to RI. By splitting Hercules off we add some flexibility in where the handoff occurs, when, etc.

Thoughts?

Good plan, Mel, except for the flight from origin to Greenville with Cristophe/Larysa. I suggest we confirm the full plan with them, Tim, and Iceman soon.

I will be flying a turn-around and hope to arrive/depart Greenville around 11 AM/ 12PM. This would get me back up to Leesburg around 2.
(Cristophe, I will probably need to make the airport GSP rather than GMU, as I have passengers to drop off, but we can confirm this later.)

"Free-range" dogs (uncrated) is my preference too, as my cabin will not accomodate multiple crates. Leashes are all that is needed.

Regrettable that Herc is excluded and will require a separate transport, but I don't see how the present plan can accomodate him.

Thanks,

Steve,

I am fine either way (KISO or KGSP).

The flight from KLKR to GSP is only 40 min so I can easily make 11a there.

Rosemary, It sounds like things are coming together:

Cristophe/Larysa take all 4 puppies from Lancaster (origin) to Greenville on Sunday, 11/25, connecting with Steve at 11 AM.

Steve takes all 4 puppies from Greenville to Leesburg, connecting with me and Tim at about 2 PM.

I take Hershey and Juilette Leesburg to central NJ (destination), arrive about 4:30.

Tim takes Noel & Rudy Leesburg to NJ and connects with Iceman 1007

Iceman 1007 takes Noel and Rudy to Providence, RI (destination).

I need to know the desired destination in NJ for Hershey and Juilette.

Tim and Iceman 1007 need to decide on the transfer point in NJ for Noel and Rudy.

No crates for transportation. Receiving rescues will provide crates for ground transportation.

Tim:

How far North do you think you can get Noel and Rudy? Any chance that you could get them as far as Long Island?

Thanks

Rosemary,

Central Jersey is doable for me.

Not to throw a monkey wrench into things, but if you can get Hercules to Leesburg on Sunday, I could swap with Tim. He could take Hershey, Juliette, and Hercules to Central Jersey and I could take Noel and Rudy to meet Rich. My problem is that Rich wants to meet on Long Island, which would require a fuel stop for me and, since I'm pretty slow anyway, result in a transfer as late as 5:30-6:00. That's after dark and I'd prefer not to try navigating the NYC airspace in the dark. Also, it would be a pretty late arrival in Providence. So the way we have it now is best if all we have are the 4 puppies. But if we can get Hercules up north it would be worth it to save him as well.

Rosemary,

Good. I'll get out of the way and let you coordinate. For planning purposes, I wil take 2 hours to get from Leesbury (KJYO) to Central Jersey (47N). My arrival time at 47N will depend on when Steve arrives at KJYO. For planning purposes, if he lands at 2, figure 1/2 hour on the ground, I take off at 2:30 and arrive at 47N at 4:30.
