Home for Christmas! White Shepherd Needs transport IN to MT

Post by lustya » Tue Dec 04, 2012 1:33 pm

Please help Jasper! He is a great dog and is gorgeous but he has separation anxiety so he was adopted out and returned twice for the separation anxiety! This poor guy, just gets scared. However, his foster home said she would take him back and keep him forever; but, she had moved out to Montana! So, we have to get him to safety. He is a great dog, just panics when he is alone for too long.

Additional Info/situation: Jasper loves all people and other dogs. He has separation anxiety and has been adopted out twice and returned for that. He is also an escape artist when left alone.

I could do the last leg from Bozeman MT (BZN to Kalispell CIty (S27) on a good VFR day during daylight hours. If scheduling required, I could overnight the dog in Lincoln MT as I have kennels. Winter weather and dayligh hours are the limiting factors on picking a day to do this.

Great! This is my first time posting to Pilots n Paws (I do lots of auto transports). Should I put a run together for all flights? I wasn't sure how to even pick a date:)
I could start with a run and go from there I guess:)

I realize this is veeery last minute, but if you could arrange foster in St. Louis, I could get him from Indy (actually Crawfordsville, but I could jump over after my mtgs) to St. Louis tomorrow.

Amy -

First you just have to get legs filled to make up the total transport. Then depending on which legs are ground and which are air, the actual scheduling may be dependent on weather unless the pilot is IFR (instrument flight rules) rated (I'm not). Also, you will have to figure where overnights are required. Probably figure 60 mph average for ground transports (following roads) and 100 to 120 mph for air transports (usually direct). My flight from Bozeman to Kalispell (198 nautical miles) will take 2 hours.

Hope this helps.

Thanks! I was sort of hoping I could get enough flights together to get her there:) I'll see what I can get together!

If you don't get enough replies to your orignal post, you might try making direct request to individual pilots along the route of flight. Click on the little airplane symbols on the map and then click on the link for a direct request.

I am based in Minneapolis; could pick up the pooch in Iowa and deliver to Western North or South Dakota. Looks like the routing would be through Chicago and then Northwest. Would have to be on a Saturday though since have a busy work schedule. xcflyr

I'm in Billings, MT. I could pickup in N or S Dakota and possibly meet Jerry part way.
