Mark, VAY works for me.

It looks like there's a 50 mile difference between "New Vernon" near Morristown, and "Vernon" near Greenwood Lake. Katherine should be able to confirm which one is closer to her.

Hello Pilot Team...just want to give an update, as we are watching a serioius wind advisory through Friday in NC, with winds up to 60 mph...with possible continued winds through or into Saturday. Not as strong, but we need to be cognizant of heavy winds. Is anyone else seeing anything in their area as a fallout of this storm system passing through?

Latest winds aloft forecast for Sat is not favorable except for the northern most OPs area. Expecting turbulence as well. Have not yet seen Airmet Zulu forecast graphic for Sat.

Baltimore surface winds are forecast to increase over the next day and a half, steady at 26 gusting to 48.

If by tonight the forecast issued doesn't change, I'll need to call a "NO GO" for my leg. Winds aloft of 50-60kts is too much for a P28A-161....and it gets worse as the day goes on

Jon,
The surface winds in my area for tomorrow are looking like somewhere in the 9-15 knot range, OK for me, but flying west and south they progressively increase. We should all have a better idea by tonight, lets hope for some unlikely, but hopeful improvement. Do we have an alternate, or back up day, that works for all pilots in place yet?

Happy Holidays,

Charlie, I don't think there's been any mention of a backup date. I am not available Sunday. I am available on Monday and next Saturday and Sunday.

David,
I'm also available the same days as yourself next week too, in the event of a no go tomorrow. I was checking with flight service and there's a chance the winds tomorrow may not be as bad as first thought. Lets keep our fingers crossed and see what it looks like in the AM.

Team, we probably need to make a decision tonight, as I have to pick the dogs up as early at 7am, in order to make it to my airport, preflight, pick-up a clearance, etc. I am not seeing the winds reducing to the point of safe, especially for smaller GA aircraft. I can do Sunday, and just possibly Monday, but other than that, not much open past that. It would have to be early again on Monday....but now we are talking X-Mas Eve for the later legs. We'll need to decide tonight I think, as it may be difficult to catch everyone in the morning in time.

Jon,
I'm available on Monday (I have a family member going in for surgery on Sunday) if we decide tonight it's a no go. How about we make a final decision really late tonight after we get the latest forecast?
Also if the flight does go on Sunday and Mark is willing to board the dog Sunday night, I can meet him anytime on Monday, at his convenience and take it from there.
