Additional Info/situation:

Now that the end of the "monsoon" rains appears likely by Friday, 01/18, we'd like to get some of these headed to Houston to find their loving families. These have been stacking up due to inclement weather, so we have an assortment of critters who need a ride.

Trip would be to Houma (HUM) to pick up the Beagle and at least 5 kittens, then on to New Iberia (ARA) to pick up the remainder. All will continue on to Houston. Prefer KAXH (Houston Southwest) or KLVJ (Pearland) or even Sugarland. You would be doing us a huge service, however, so we're flexible on Houston-area airports.

Pilot will need to furnish crates, with the exception of the kittens who may be coming in cardboard carriers.

If this is too many for one trip, we can always break this up into 2 legs: Houma to Houston and a New Iberia to Houston. Weather forecast looks good for Friday, 1/18 thru Wednesday, 1/23. We can be ready to go with very little lead-time.

Carolyn,

I'm on hold for a possible Dallas-Houston mission on Friday and a Houston-San Antonio mission on Sunday. If you can bear with me . . . .

Those are almost certainly more crates than I have, or I can fit in one flight. The WX here looks good through next Thursday.

I could fly two consecutive days.

If it's two flights over two days, what size and how many crates would I need for each?

More tomorrow. Should hear back about the other two missions by then.

Best,
Wade

Hello Carolyn,

I should be able to take all the critters in one trip. I'm available Saturday, Sunday, or Monday.

Thanks, Wade and CB,

If CB can take them all (or most of them), we can do the rest later in the week with you, Wade. There are several more in the N.I. area who might need to go as well, so they could go later. Sunday should work for us if that's okay with CB. BTW, I was told that Thibodaux is closed until next month. That is the ONLY reason I am suggesting Houma as a pickup site. If, in fact, Thibodaux IS open, that would be better for all concerned, as this is where the Beagle and the kittens actually are.

Carolyn,

Sounds good. I have a patient flight tomorrow, and then a, gulp, two Great Dane mission on Sunday. Keep me posted. I do have a tentative patient flight on Monday.

The Thibodaux NOTAMs indicate the the airfield is closed through at least 2/3.

(Tom: We really should find a way to meet. You like kolaches? I'm in Friendswood, too. Where do you hangar? I'm in a t-hangar to the SE side of the field off of taxiway Delta near Sky Hawk.)

(Carolyn: On reading the request again, I likely could've transported all. Just a suggestion for the future: it'd be helpful to know in the initial posting the total number of crates and approximate dimensions of each (crates needed, crates [including cardboard] supplied.)

Weather didn't cooperate with us on Sunday in the Houston area, but Tom managed to get out of Pearland late that morning and complete this trip. He picked up 2 dogs and 9 kittens in Houma, then added another 5 puppies at his New Iberia stop. All safely arrived in Houston and can now begin their journey towards adoptive/permanent homes. Thanks, Tom, for hanging in there with us!!
