Rusty - Goofy Bloodhound to Donated EYE Surgery

Post by atrulli » Sun Mar 16, 2014 5:22 pm

Looking for flight March 18 to March 22, 2014 - This is a repost as Vet could not get Rusty scheduled last week with being out of town.
I can't get picture to upload --
Bloodhound's Name: Rusty - sweet, kissing, goofy boy needs eye surgery ..
Number of animals being transported: ONE
Breeds, weight, age: 90- 100 pounds, 2 years of age
Health Condition: NEEDS eye surgery.
Heart worm Status: negative
Vaccinations: UTD
Health Certificate: NA instate transport
Spay/Neutered: Neutered
Special needs: Rusty's mom and dad just need a hand up or pay it forward, Mom lost her job as a teacher last year, unemployment ran out at Christmas time and now Rusty's Dad has been laid off from his job. They have checked out all the local vets for this eye surgery and are being quoted $2,200 was the lowest. Riverside Vet Hospital part of the bloodhound rescue community said she would do it for $700 if we can get Rusty to her to do it in Elizabeth, PA. I am raising the money for the surgery.
Name of Sending Rescue/Parties: Rusty's parents Carissa and Chris
Name of Receiving Rescue/Parties:
Contact information (publicly viewable on forum): Ann
Are you a 501c3: yes can provide a letter for your sweet charitable donation
He will come with his blanket, leash, etc.

Additional Info/situation: Since Rusty's parents couldn't set up payments locally for the eye surgery, Dr. Marybeth Cline agreed to do it.. Rusty needs eye surgery on both eyes to get him some relief from the cherry eye and the entropian (eye lashes rubbing on eyes). Rusty's mom is a teacher and got laid off last year, receiving her last unemployment check at Christmas. Now, Rusty's Dad has been laid off recently. If they couldn't get this eye surgery they were going to be forced to surrender Rusty to rescue. This would be like the last kick in the teeth to this family... but they also knew they had to think first of Rusty and his health. The bloodhound family has their back and will raise the money for a hands up or a pay forward for Rusty's parents.

We are very flexible to airports - Rusty's parents live in York, PA - very flexible to
KTHV York Airport York, Pennsylvania, USA
KCXY - Capital City Airport
N71 - Donegal Springs Airpark

Recieving airport
AirNav: KFWQ - Rostraver Airport or KAGC - Allegheny County Airport -- Dr. Marybeth CLine has picked up and sent off bloodhounds from these airports.

Once I have a pilot, I will set up an email with all parties, date, time, airport, cell phones, etc.

Thank you so much for your consideration -- if we can get Rusty to Rostraver or Allegheny this next week, then he can ride back home by ground.

Believe I'll be able to do this trip for you on Friday morning, weather permitting. Would pick up at
THV and take him to Allegheny County. I'll tentatively plan to arrive THV about 9:30, which would then have me arrive at AGC around 11:20.
With a dog that size, I would plan on simply tethering him in the back seat.
