Barney is a sweet, medium size dog that was going to be put down in a San Diego shelter. X-rays show that his leg is broken in two places. If we can get him as far as The Hill Country of Texas, we can then drive him to Houston where we have a rescue friendly vet for surgery.

Thank you,

I am working on getting two dogs to California from San Antonio ... we should be able to get Barney going in the opposite direction. Am going to do some emailing some of the pilots I have worked with before getting dogs to/from Texas/California - Denise

I will be flying from Carlsbad, NM one week from tomorrow (Sunday the 12th), to San Marcos, TX, between Austin & San Antonio. In Carlsbad, we have ample accomodations if a stay is involved between now and then. Is there any kind of splint or restraint device on the leg now?

Are you aware of the vet clinic in Albuquerque, NM that has specialist for that type of problem. Several years ago we had our Lab's knee redone and pinned there. Don't remember the name right now but my wife will if you are interested.
