Post by dodgermb » Mon Dec 28, 2009 2:44 pm

Large chocolate lab is being rescued from Stark Co. Canton, OH shelter but needs a lift to Indy to catch commercial flight. Daughter of a Quiet Birdman is adopting this guy and would help w/ costs to get him to his new home.

I might be able to help with one leg of this transport, depending on weather. I am in the Kansas City area and could take a leg from St. Louis to Kansas City or Kansas City to Garden City Kansas. This would be a long trip with a number of legs, unless someone is flying the "big iron". And, of course, we have those pesky Rocky Mountains in the way. Have you checked on flying the pup commercial? Let me know if I can help...Jim

Thanks Jim - I am going to fly him commercial - out of Indy to Las Vegas non stop. So, now we have to get him from Canton to Indy, any ideas for that leg?

Other than posting on this board, a great way is to use the "pilot locator" tool that should identify pilots along the route. I'm no expert here but I get direct email requests from people who have used that tool. Also, you might want to amend your original post to just show the leg you need (Canton to Indy). That might draw more pilots or transporters in. Good luck!!!

Have you tried www.petairways.com? Also, Midwest Airlines flies from Akron/Canton Airport (CAK), to Las Vegas (LAS). Their website is www.midwestairlines.com.

Wow ! Thank you Thank You ! This is so ironic -my dad was a private pilot out of CAK for over 40 yrs. - as a kid, Iwould go w/ him all the time- he would have loved the idea of transporting animals!
