CANCEL: Youngstown, OH (44513) to Chicago, IL (60631)

This transport request is for a 2-3 year old female, 45 pound lab mix named "Mama Mary". She is currently at the Mahoning County Dog Pound. This is her Petfinder LInk: http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displa ... d=15280691. She has rescue in Chicago, IL where she will be fostered by a very kind family until her forever home is found.

Here is her story....Mama Mary was taken from a drug dealers home where she was chained up in their back yard (as far from the house as possible) with no water, food or shelter. She also gave birth to a litter of pups under these same conditions. She was saved from strangling herself with her chain from a Good Samaritan that was bringing her food and water.

The Mahoning County dog pound came to the property and took her and her pups. All her pups were adopted and Mama Mary was still waiting for someone to save her. She was so scared when they brought her to the pound, that she wouldn't get out of the van. The Mahoning County Dog Pound is a heartstick shelter and Mama Mary had been at the top of the list for euthanasia . When a local rescuer, Kim Best, found out about this poor girl's plight, she took it upon herself to find a home for Mama Mary.

Kim was successful in finding a wonderful home for Mama Mary to go to in Chicago, IL so she is no longer in danger of being PTS. However, the longer this girl is in the shelter waiting for transport to Chicago, IL it is keeping her kennel from being used for another pup in need. If anyone is able to fly this sweet girl from OH to IL, Kim would be very grateful. Thank you so much.

Hi Paul,

Thank you so much for your reply. I contacted Kim to find out if there was still a need and she said that she was able to catch a ride via ground transport. I'm glad for your email because it enabled me to not only check the status but close this transport request out. Many thanks to you!
