DONE Senior shep needs transport NC -NJ June 12

Post by flypiper » Tue Jun 01, 2010 6:00 am

60 pound female shep needs transport from Charlotte to West Milford, NJ (4N1).

leg #1-KAKH-Gastonia Muni to 0V4 (Brookneal) 156 mi (1.5 hr)
leg #2 K0V4-KJYO (Leesburg Exec) 135 mi (1 hr 15 min)
Leg #3 KJYO - KMQS (Chester Co) 95 mi (52 min)
Leg #4 KMQS - 4N1 (Greenwood Lake) 98 mi (55 min) linda

The route could certainly be changed to accomodate the pilots. I will take the last leg to Greenwood Lake. This old girl has hw, and needs treatment. She appears healthy, and will be spayed June 1. She will be up to date on shots and come with her paperwork.

I am going to foster her for LABRN until she is healthy, then she will be up for adoption.

thanks, Linda

We have a wonderful offer to p/y from 0V4 and bring to Frederick MD, but I do not do controlled airspace (I am working on finding another pilot to go with me).

Can anyone help bring Willow from Frederick?

......but I do not do controlled airspace

Linda,

FDK does not have a tower and there's nothing special about the airspace around it. The map ring that it sits inside is only an airspeed restriction.

"All VFR aircraft operations within the airspace between 30 NMR and 60 NMR of 385134N/0770211W or the Washington /DCA/ VOR/DME, from the surface up to but not including FL180, are restricted to an indicated airspeed of 230 knots or less"

FDK gets pretty busy, but you don't have to talk to any controllers if you don't want to.

Ok--new flight plan:

#1 KAKH (GASTONIA MUNI) TO 0V3 (BROOKNEAL) 156 MI (Thanks, Tim!) 1.5 hr
9 a.m. to 10:45
#2 0V4 (BROOKNEAL) TO FDK (FREDERICK) 156 MI (thanks Elliot & Martha!) 1.5 hr
10:45 a.m. to 12:00
#3 FDK (FREDERICK) TO KMQS (CHESTER CO) 78 MI 1 hr
12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
#4 KMQS (CHESTER CO) TO 4N1 (GREENWOOD LAKE) 98 MILES (LINDA)

Thanks, Jeff and Elliott---I did take that online course, and should have checked the sectional before assuming FDK was controlled.

So, we still need Leg 3
Can anyone help?

If the dog will fit in the back seat of my Cessna 172, I can take her from Frederick to MQS on the 12th.
I assume she'll have a harness.

She has nothing---right from the kill area at the shelter to the vet to be spayed, then to foster. I have not even seen her yet. No harnass, no crate. About 55 lbs.

BUT--we have this covered, I think. Thanks for the offers everyone!!

9 a.m. to 10:45
#2 0V4 (BROOKNEAL) TO FDK (FREDERICK) 156 MI (thanks Elliot & Martha!) 1.5 hr
10:45 a.m. to 12:00
#3 FDK (FREDERICK) TO KMQS (CHESTER CO) 78 MI 1 hr (thanks Kristin)
12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
#4 KMQS (CHESTER CO) TO 4N1 (GREENWOOD LAKE) 98 MILES (Linda and Debbie)

Hi, Folks

I'll be flying the 0V4-FDK leg on Saturday in place of Elliott. We swapped so he could do an ARF flight later in the day.
My aircraft info: Cessna 172 N172WB White/Blue/Red.
I won't be able to fit a crate large enough for Willow in my plane, so will have to tether her in the back seat. If she won't have a harness with her,
let me know and I'll bring one.

Tim - I noticed on Airnav that 0V4 does not seem to have fuel. Would Lynchburg (LYH) be okay to meet? Probably at Virginia Aviation. LYH is 14 miles
from 0V4.
