Before being abandoned in rural southern Louisiana, someone poured caustic chemicals on this dog. He was picked up stray and placed in a high-kill gassing facility with 72 hours to find placement before being euathanized. Vermillion Parish Animal Aid located a rescue for him in Denver, CO (Rottie Aid Rottweiler Rescue). He has a 10 cm linear wound on his back, but remains in good spirits. Right now he is in a very temporary foster placement and we're hopeful to get him to his Colorado rescuer ASAP so he can receive continued medical care in a stable environment.
He is underweight (approx 65 lbs). I am awaiting complete measurements from the people in Louisiana and will update this post as soon as I can get the information. He will be fully vaccinated and have a health certificate prior to travel.
