Hello all,
My name is Scott Heller and I am an ASEL VFR pilot in upstate NY. I fly a Piper Warrior out of Glens Falls airport (KGFL) and am happy to be a part of this organization. While I have yet to do a rescue flight, I want to help out any way I can.

Fly safe!
Scott

Hello, I joined here in August right around the time I was asked to be on the board of a local rescue group in my town. So, my appearance here was short and to be honest, put on the backburner. I heard about PNP from the DANS network, which I belong to also. I am a registered foster home through the IL State of Agriculture, and no, I didn't pay to play for that position!  Anywho...PNP is an outstanding organization and it's great to see it growing everyday!I don't know how much help I can be, but I certainly will do my best if called upon. Many thanks to all the volunteer pilots out there!!!!Oh, by the way, I am a dog groomer for 20 yrs, happily married w/children, have 3 dogs...BC mix, Dobie,Bichon.I would have lots more if I could win that dern lottery!!! :P

Hello animal lovers,

My name is Cindy Yurth (user name mrssswannee) and I'm a member of Blackhat Humane Society, which fosters dogs and cats on the Navajo Reservation. The organization is based in St. Johns, Ariz., but I live in Chinle, right in the middle of the rez. The stray problem here is horrendous. Parvovirus and distemper are rampant, and strays are often abused or shot. When I took our current foster, a gentle red heeler mix, to be spayed, the vet found a bb lodged between her uterus and large intestine ... someone must have short her with a pellet gun at close range! I was delighted to hear of Pilots N Paws from my boss, who read the USA Today article. Often we have inquiries from our Petfinder site (http://rezdog.petfinder.org) from far away and have to turn away potential adopters because it is prohibitive to fly the animals commercially. We have an airport in Chinle and I'd be happy to provide temporary care during a rescue.

Hi Everybody,
My name is Makayla and I work and volunteer at the local animal shelter where I live in Maury County in Tennessee. Our shelter is unfortunatly a kill shelter and is EXTREMELY overcrowded. Myself and a handful of other volunteers have been desperately searching for rescues to send our animals to and try to save them. If there are any rescues that are willing to help me please let me know, we need all the help we can get! Thanks! (e-mail makayla6624@hotmail.com)

Hello everyone!

My name is Laura, and I'm from Watson, IL. My mom told me about your site after she saw a story about it on the news. I have been involved in animal rescue for several years now and am always looking for new avenues to help place animals from around here with homes. I do a lot of the work myself putting ads in the paper and making fliers, plus I Iist animals I'm currently looking to place on several different websites. I have also taken part in several hands-on rescues and have worked with our local Humane Investigator and PETA. In addition, I also work with the Effingham County Humane Society as a volunteer and serve on the Board of Directors for their Building Commitee.

What really prompted my interest to join is that Percival Springs airport is less than 5 minutes away from where I live, which would make it an ideal place for pick ups or drop offs if any pilots would be willing to add it to their agenda. I have looked up their info. and here are two sites:

http://www.mytravelguide.com/restaurant ... rport.html

http://www.airnav.com/airport/2T2

I currently cannot foster but am willing to help transport animals that need picked up or dropped off.

Thanks so much, I think this as an awesome program and am glad to be a part of it!!! :D

Hello everyone; I'm Bill Kinard (twofeathers). I'm based in Thomaston, GA and live in Meansville, GA. It's an honor to join all of you in this effort and I'm more than happy to help any way I can. Teri and I have a rescued Great Dane named Peyton, a true gentle giant. We also have Senia, who goes in and out and a Sheltie, Doc, who has flown with me before; one cat Rusty. I work for Abaris Training as an Advanced Composite Technical Instructor. We are based in Reno, NV and I take care of the East coast facility in Griffin, GA. I have been in aviation for 23 years and teaching first in the technical colleges in the middle GA area and now for Abaris. I have been teaching for 19 years. I am a VFR pilot, flying a classic 1947 Stinson 108-2 Voyegar with a 165hp, heavey case Franklin engine. I can fly most any weekend, weather permitting or during the weeks that I do not have a class to teach. Just e-mail if you have any questions or need any help.

Be safe!
Bill

Hi all,

My name is Marty Hutto and I am based at KCPK in Chesapeake, VA. I fly a Piper Cherokee 140. She's a little slow but still a great airplane. I'm proud to offer my limited services to promote the adoption of our true companions by loving humans. ;)

My wife and I have three Tibetan Terriers and one Japanese Chin. The first two Tibetans were planned. The other Tibetan and the Chin are rescues.

I can fly rescue on weekends when the weather cooperates. Unless there are extremely pressing circumstances, I need to limit trips to less than 500 miles total.

My wife refuses to fly with me. :( Trust me, it's not because of my piloting skills, she just doesn't like small planes. The children love it, but they can't convince Mom to try it. Maybe this operation will change her mind. 8-) In the meantime, I'm open for a critter caregiver to fly the right seat if there are any near Chesapeake, VA.

Hey, this is flying with a purpose, not just another $100 hamburger!

Marty

Hi Marty!

Thanks for joining us! FYI, I posted your information under the Pilots Volunteering board so that when rescues look through that forum they can see what area you are in. It is wonderful that you have been adopted by some rescue pups as well and yes, when you do your first transport I think you will see how true the hamburger quote becomes!

I can also relate to your wife....I am never the first one in line to fly, if I even make it to the line. My family have all been "shocked" that I have gone on two rescue flights now with two different pilots--I think those two flights will last me for awhile but at least I did them :D There's hope for her yet!
