This poor girl was dumped at the shelter along with her companion, a male sheepdog. The sheepdog was rescued but they left this girl behind. She was scared, sad and depressed at the shelter. The first week she could not stop shaking! A rescuer in TN worked hard to save her and at the last minute found someone to pull Princess from the shelter and take her to boarding.

Boarding is better than death row but this girl desperately needs to get to her forever life and get settled.

Hi Russell,

Princess can't get in to the vet until Monday to get her Health Certificate. She was just pulled yesterday from the shelter. Will it work for you to fly Tuesday if at all possible? Also, do you want them to have a crate for her? She's 40 lbs so she will need a big medium size crate and I don't know if it will fit in the plane. She will have a harness and leash.

The boarding facility is located in zip code 76016 and the closest airport is KGKY - Arlington Municipal Airport. Do you think that will work for you to get her there?

Tuesday is fine. We will need to get a crate and see fi it fits. Adn i fly out of Terrell. Its about 40 minutes from Arlington, so can you pick up there?

Hi Russell,
Is it possible for you to fly to the Arlington airport (KGKY) to pick up this girl? She is at a boarding kennel and although Julie (the rescuer) has tried several times to find someone there is no one that can drive Princess to Terrell. They said they would hit rush hour traffic in Dallas and can't be away from the kennel for that long. They also said they can't get a crate for her but do have a harness and leash.

This is one of the big difficulties in getting rescued dogs to the pilot when the rescuer is so far away. I'm sorry the boarding kennel can't help more. Hopefully, it will still work. If so, what time would you be in Arlington and in Nashville? And which airport in Nashville? I know many pilots use the John C Tune (KJWN) airport in Nashville.

I can pick her up in Arlington, but that is the opposite way i need to fly to Nashville, and i would have to maneuver around the airspace around DFW coming and going, so that would make it too long a flight to do during the week. I can do it on a weekend, but it would be two weeks minimum before i can get to her, maybe more.

I can't be there tomorrow morning. When i do flights during the week, it is always after work, no earlier than 4PM.
