I am confused on this one....why all the LOT, and then back to IJX? I am not sure where these dogs are trying to get to from GEV?

Hi All, They need to go from W Jefferson NC (Ashe County Airport/KGEV, which has TN on W border & VA to the N) to Romeoville IL. Bogdan, were you thinking flying Jacksonville IL to KLOT vs other way around? :-) Thank you!!!

Bogan, Ashen,

OK, looking at that flight, it adds additional miles. It's 463 nms from GEV to IJX, and then another 147 nms from IJX to LOT for a total of over 600nms, whereas, GEV to LOT direct is only 440 nms. Wouldn't make any sense to fly to IJX and then up to LOT. However, 440nms one way is a little far as it is, without splitting the mission somewhere in between. IJX to LOT is no way near that. Have to rethink this one....

It looks like the mid point is between Lexington and Louisville. I could do one of these legs on a weekend.

Hi Everyone,

I have called the Vet and gotten exact weights for the 3 dogs: Butterscotch is 52lbs, Chuck is 30lbs & Noah is 42lbs.
Butterscotch & Noah seem as if they ride well but Chuck is a very energetic pup and was evidently quite boisterous in the crate on the ride to the Vet. We have no slip collars and I am going to mail a few different sizes up to the local volunteer (Mandy) tonight to be sure we have one small enough for Chuck. Chuck is a great-natured pup...just high energy.

Thank you everyone for volunteering to help this trio. I'm trying to figure out just what legs we have filled...do we just need last leg filled?

Thank you!!!

I am changing the date on this to 6/9/12 as the dogs didn't get transported on 6/2.

Pilot "206" would you possibly be able to fly the dogs up to IN if I could get them to you via ground transport on SAT? They should arrive late afternoon. I'm trying to figure out if that might be the best way to proceed. MLRR (receiving rescue) has a pilot friend in OH and we're trying to figure out if he could help get them from IN to IL.

Thank you!

Unfortunately a late Saturday afternoon departure is a problem for me. I could depart here early and get the pups back here in Lexington by mid day if we can get one or two connections to Illinois.
