A very special THANK YOU to Derrick with Winner Aviation at KYNG in Youngstown, Ohio.

"Lucky", a very special dog from Afghanistan who was adopted by one of our soliders, was finally headed home to meet his new family in Indiana via the work of Guardians of Rescue, Nowzad, and Pilots N Paws. Pilot Christine was in the air and on her way to meet a second pilot who had to cancel at the last minute. Some quick maneuvering by Meridith with Guardians of Rescue and several phone calls later, Lucky had a ride with a different soldier who had served under the soldier adopting Lucky. He was closer to Youngstown, two hours versus a six hour drive, and headed from NW Ohio to Youngstown to give Lucky a lift. Meanwhile, Derrick with Winnder Aviation took excellent care of Lucky making sure he was walked, given water and of course petted. His adoptive soldier and family were on their way from Indiana to meet their friend and finally unite with Lucky.

Many FBO's have gone above the call to assist our pilots and today Winner Aviation was at the top of the list. Please visit them when you are flying in that area and thank them for caring about what we do.
