Can we get flights from the US into Canada?

Post by ess4us » Mon Aug 06, 2012 10:15 am

Are there pilots willing to fly for example from Syracuse, NY to Ottawa,Ontario, Canada? I was hoping to possibly find a pilot who might be able to assist with this but when I put in what Canada uses as a zip code, it came back not a valid zip, so I'm checking to see if this is a possibility or not. THANKS!!!

After some discussions with Pilots N Paws Canada's Board of Director members and a chat with my friend Debi Boies Co-Founder of Pilots N Paws in the US here, I have made a decision to change or broaden our Pilots N Paws Canada program mandate.

As many of the larger animal rescue groups such as NOLA and NBRAN operate within both Canada and the US, we will now look for ways to assist these groups moving animals into fosters or adopting homes to and from the US if they are already established with Pilots N Paws in the US. Of course this will all be dependent on the volunteer pilots willingness to take on the flights.

We will still maintain our position of not assisting those who bring animals into Canada for profit or from any countries outside of Canada and the USA. Nor will our program be available to rescues that do not follow standard rescue protocols.

If a rescue cannot produce the necessary documentation to clear their animal into our country (see standard rescue protocols) they will not be flown by Pilots N Paws Canada. Pilots N Paws in the US has similar standards so if a group is flying with them on a regular basis, we are pretty sure they will be more than all right with us too.

Thank-You very much for the reply! Here in the US we have 501c, but I guess in Canada the rescues are listed as Non-Profit, do they qualify to receive help from pilots? THANKS for your assistance!

Like Pilots N Paws in the US we have requirements regarding documents travelling with any animal into Canada. eg Health certificates, rabies certificates, Heartworm negative to some of the provinces (Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and BC) etc. The document requirements are on our Standard Rescue Protocols and No Documents=No flight pages of our website.http://www.pilotsnpawsca ... t/

A rescue group must be a non profit or charity organization to receive pilots assistance and of course they must be registered on our Forum so we have all pertinent information about them.
