Number of animals being transported: 7
Breeds, weight, age: mom and 6 pups, mom is 30 lbs, each pup is 10-12 lbs
Health Condition: Healthy
Heart worm Status: negative
Vaccinations: UTD
Health Certificate: Yes
Spay/Neutered: No- nursing mom
Special needs: none
Name of Sending Rescue/Parties SPCA of North Carolina
Name of Receiving Rescue/Parties:Almost Home Animal Rescue
Contact information (publicly viewable on forum): Kim 336-601-9387
Are you a 501c3: Yes
Additional Info/situation: We have a rescue pilot picking up a group of rescued pups at KRWI in NC on Saturday and taking them to Md to rescue. He has space available to get Mom and her 6 pups to Maryland 2W5-- but, to get this second group to safety, we need a pilot to transport them to long island. The departing flight from Maryland 2W5 would need to be in the 5 pm range. Mom and 6 pups were pulled from a gassing shelter and now just need one leg filled to get to their rescue. This is a last minute plea-- but, we are hoping Someone can help!

Thanks!

I could possibly only get them up towards Bay Bridge Airport outside of the DC SFRA if need be. Maybe Easton (KESN). Hopefully clearing the SFRA might open up possible interest to pilots who don't feel comfortable flying in the air space.

I'm based at 2W5 and can take a leg to either Cape May or Millville, NJ. The runway at 2W5 will be shortened to 1100 feet starting Monday, 29 Apr for a while until they pave the intersecting new runway. I think the owner will be closing the runway to transients that aren't familiar.

Yikes! Thanks for letting us know! I would've eventually seen it in the NOTAM's but if it's closed to transients, that would ruin my chances.

Good Evening, I need to make one adjustment to the timing, let me know if this would effect the trip from 2W5 to Millville, NJ. The arriving flight from KRWI would be Around 3 pm. Would this be okay? If so, then i will edit the post and see If anyone can take the mom and pups from Millville to Long Island Saturday.

Thanks so much for the help and offers to get mom and pups to their rescue!

Kim

Yep, I can launch from 2W5 pretty much any time on Saturday. Just remember whoever is coming in to 2W5, contact Potomac Approach and get cleared into the SFRA well before you get there

I have a ton of crates in my hangar. About 3 or 4 sizes, so if the prior leg wants to retain his, we can transfer to mine and if who I pass off to needs them, I'll pass them along

We appreciate offers to Millville, NJ, but it appears that we will not get a 3rd pilot to make this work. SO, the first pilot has offered to get the mom and pups to Cambridge, MD! Can anyone offer a flight from Cambridge, MD, to the Bohemia, NY area Saturday afternoon? We are desperately trying to get this little dog family to rescue!!
