I can take the smaller dogs from KAAS to Indy Thursday or Friday if the weather permits.

Friday might be the best day to fly. I can try to get dogs to Minneapolis area from northern Iowa/Illinois or southern Wisconsin. Would be best if they were in foster home Thursday night so that all air legs were not on same day. I am strictly VFR.

I don't have access to an airplane anymore, but am willing to DRIVE approximately 100 mile radius of St. Louis and will take as many dogs as will fit in a Chevy HHR. Schedule is pretty flexible.

Many of these flights will be coming right overhead of our FBO at Albert Lea, MN. (KAEL) on the way to Minneapolis. I have a standing offer of fuel at cost for PNP flights--both inbound and outbound. Current fuel cost is $4.53 per gallon.

It would help if we knew what legs need to be filled yet so I can look for pilots.

Ok, so I see this as basically several "Packages" at about 100# or two crates (typical loading for a 4-seat trainer like I fly), with 1 big dog, and a couple smaller:

Package 1 "Lab Rats" ~140#, 5 dogs
Lab/Newfie (55 lbs, 3yrs),
Lab (41 lbs, 2 yrs),
3 terrier mixes (10-15 lbs ea, 2 @3-4 yrs, 1@ 14 weeks),

Package 2: "Collie and Friends" ~100#, 4 dogs
Border Collie (65 lbs, 1 yr),
2 Chi mixes (5 lbs, 7 lbs, 4-5 yrs),
Rat Terrier/Curr mix (25 lbs, 6 yrs),

Package 3: "Pittie Party" ~112#, 3 dogs (could add more small dogs?)
2 pit mixes (40 lbs, 50 lbs, 2 yrs, 5 yrs),
Westie (12 lbs, 3 yrs),

Package 4: "Team Greyhound" ~100#, 2 adults, 8 pups
Lab/Greyhound mom and pups (35 lbs, 1 yr, 8 pups 2 wk old 2-3 lb),
Rott mix (50 lbs, 8 mo),

Package 5: "Barky Dogs": ~80#, 2 adults
2 Coonhounds (30 lbs, 50 lbs, 2 yrs),

Package 6: "Little Dogs": ~100#, 2 adults, 2 pups
American Bull Dog (50 lbs, 3 yrs), 2 mix pups (7 lbs, 8 weeks)
Shep mix (35 lbs, 2 yrs),

I'll do proposed legs in the next post, but is it fair to assume most pilots have access to a couple of crates? We can get crates to people who don't have them. I'm assuming a small crate can go in the baggage compartment of most small planes, and that a slightly larger one can go in the back seat of most trainers, but you guys tell me what your aircraft are capable of.

In addition to the offers above, there is an offer from Mike Green. He states below that he can pick up additional dogs on his planned route:
I am flying from Dayton to Janesville, WI this Saturday. I could swing by Indy and pick them up and drop them off @ Jaynesville (KJVL).Which leads me to ask..Could they get to Indy Saturday mid/late morning? Can the Appleton to MN flight meet me @ KJVL? regards,

I can go this Friday 10/18 afternoon (unfortunately under fairly narrow time constraints as to when the airplane's available) for a ~3-3:30 PM pickup in La Crosse, returning to Flying Cloud or Anoka (Anoka would be easier, but I can put the doggies in my car and drive them to the south side) by 5:30 PM.

If that ends up being the end of Alpha Flight, can we find anyone to do the first leg?

Does anyone know anyone in or near Dixon IL (on 88, halfway between Dekalb and the Quad Cities) that might be able to host doggies overnight?
