Rebel and Gypsy from Texas to Colorado

This particular mission was able to combine two separate requests from two different rescue organizations.  Mountain Pet Rescue agreed to take a Border Collie/Retriever mix named Gpysy, and Southern Mutts Rescue Wagon will be finding a home for a lab mix named Rebel.

Meet Gypsy

The day started when Pilot Tanya picked up Gypsy from her Price foster family in Smithville, TX.  Gypsy was brought into foster with multiple other dogs from a place they were not being cared for. The amazing Bastrop Animal Rescue group raised funds to vet her and others. Things for her just kept looking up when Sybil and Mountain Pet Rescue saw her.  Rescue volunteer Della in Texas says, “We are all very jealous that she gets to live in CO. But we are so happy for her. Hope she writes to us occasionally.”

Tanya must have had her geography a bit confused.  In order to get Gypsy to Colorado, she picked up the pup near Austin and flew east to Houston.  There was a good reason, to meet Bill K that would be taking Gypsy to the Texas Panhandle.

Bill had been in Houston for a personal trip and decided to see if he could help transport any animals in need as he headed home.  He loaded up Gypsy and took off for Fort Worth, where he picked up Rebel.  Apparently, Tanya’s geography problems were also transferred to Bill as he continued northwest when his final destination of home was due north in Oklahoma City.  Rebel had recently had pups who already made their way to rescue.  Like any good mama, she sent her kids to safety first and waited patiently for her freedom ride.

Bill met up with Pilot Dana in Amarillo and transferred both dogs.  Bill took off for Oklahoma city and Dana with the dogs to Denver.  Lindsay with Southern Mutts Rescue Wagon was there upon arrival to pick up Rebel and Wendy with Mountain Pet Rescue for Gypsy.  Gypsy has already made a lasting impression on her foster family, who may soon join the ranks of foster failure by adopting her.
