3/05/2015 Pilots N Paws Transport (Ground)
Hi All,
This ground transport began (as usual) from the Florida Keys and went up the turnpike to Marianna, FL. Along the way I picked up a 10 yr old American Bulldog, a 12 year old Shitzu mix and a 1 1/2 yr old pup that were on their way to a sanctuary in Kentucky.
The following day (Thursday), the Alabama Rescue Relay took my three passengers from Miami and then loaded 98 dogs/puppies/cats in my van for the trip south. The load took 2 1/2 hours and then it was on to Wildwood, FL to deliver the first group of this transport. (42 to Second Chance, 3 to Nikki and 11 to Pat Picornell). The last stop was in Tampa where the following rescues were there to take the balance of this group (5 to All Retriever Rescue, 7 to Ewenity Farms, 21 to Suncoast Animal League and 9 to Kelly Curtis).
1300 miles driven and 101 lives saved – whether I’m flying or driving it’s always a joy to work with these rescues and see the new group of rescued critters on their way to better lives.
