Another one for Jeff Bennett..28 Puppies!
This transport started, as always, in Marathon as I met up with a good friend, Jill Hayes, who was going on this trip as co-pilot and photographer. We headed 400nm to Bainbridge, GA where we picked up 2 adult dogs and 3 puppies from the Bainbridge shelter that needed a ride to Lakeland, FL. We also met up with Tammy from Alabama who drove 6 1/2 hours with 23 puppies (three litters – 12,6 and 5) that were going to Naples, FL to be tested/enrolled in the PAWS program. This program trains dogs as service/therapy dogs for soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. They perform several tests on the puppies and the ones that are suitable for the program are placed in local foster homes to begin their training. Those pups that just want to have fun are spay/neutered, given all of their shots and placed at the Naples Humane Society for immediate adoption.

I met some great new people from the rescue world and was able to transport 28 puppies/dogs to new their new start in life. A big thank you to everyone involved.
