Pilots N Paws

Our Latest Rescue

Sept 10th, 2016 Todd and I started our 47th Pilots N Paws Rescue at (3M5) Moontown Airport in Huntsville, Alabama, our home base. Tracy from Walker County drove to Cullman where she met with another ground transport.  They drove with 6 puppies to Moontown airport. These two ground transports had a very early morning and long drives to get to Moontown.  Weather was hot but clear.  After taking pictures of the puppies, they were loaded in crates with water bottles to keep them cool. We headed to Lake City to meet with a ground transport. This transport was driving to Wildwood where she handed the dogs off to two other ground transports. Final destination of 4 puppies was Orlando and the other 2 was Tampa. This was a very long day for all of these adorable puppies. We headed to Jacksonville for our final destination.

It is always very emotional to let the dogs go, but we know the animals are headed for a better life.

All rescues are complex rescues, but they end up very successful. We appreciate how hard the volunteers work facilitating constantly changing dogs, destinations, times, pilots, and weather.

Unfortunately many others aren’t as lucky, and as you all know, the only answer to this devastating issue is to spay/neuter/rescue. All of these dogs are really sweet, and they deserve to be curled up on the living room floor at night not tossed out like trash.
